a fullstack developer and UI designerI specialize in Rust/NixOS systems, and pixel perfect design engineering. I particularly enjoy problems involving concurrency and real-time constraints.
In addition to development, I have led the UI design for numerous production and one-off projects.

About Me
I'm Luke, an American software engineer based in Germany.
I work on Rust/NixOS systems professionally.
I have a bit of a strange background, having moved from HCI and UI/UX, to frontend, fullstack, and eventually systems development.
I'm particularly fond of Rust and Nix, because they removed entire classes of issues that prevented me from making the software I want.
A small initial investment in these tools, gave me the ability to write tools in domains that I always deemed to inaccesible without a PhD, or a coffee-stained copy of the C99 reference manual.

I am primarily working on two open source projects right now:
- Legato: A DSL and real-time audio framework for Rust
- HWaaS: A NixOS/Rust/Vue monorepo for reproducible hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure
I'm only interested in fulltime opportunities where I can take ownership of my work, and work on interesting technical challanges. If I seem like a good fit, feel free to reach out to me via LinkedIn.
